Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC respectively) is something that any company involved in manufacturing and assembly has to deal with. Quite often, very tight manufacturing tolerances are needed, and if they are not met, the cost of redesigning/reworking can be significant.

Quality assurance has traditionally been a laborious, manual and repetitive process, with much scope of human error when entering in nominal and toleranced dimensions.

SolidWorks Inspection, a new product from SolidWorks can greatly increase automation and accuracy when creating drawings and documents for quality assurance.

It comes in two handy interfaces:

- A standalone package for analysing PDFs and TIFFs

- A integrated SolidWorks add-in for working directly with SolidWorks drawing files.

With both, the user simply identifies key dimensions, notes, geometric tolerances, adds extra information as needed, and then exports the results out as an Microsoft Excel Worksheet.

Easily identify key dimensions, tolerances and notes

Export results out in industry-standard formats

SolidWorks Inspection also come in two packages designed to best suit the users needs:

- Solidworks Inspection Standard, for inspecting documents and creating First Article Inspection Reports

- SolidWorks Inspection Professional, with all the capabilities of Standard, plus the ability to import result data from CMM machines.

With SolidWorks Inspection, you can make your quality assurance process much more efficient, and reduce the chance of data entry errors and costly rework.
