Previous Release Interoperability
Previous Release Interoperability is not available in SolidWorks 2014. SolidWorks 2014 SP5 will not open files created or saved in SolidWorks 2015.
As you are aware with new releases of software coming out, the system requirements change in order to keep up with operating systems releases. SolidWorks and the multiple products that support this core product use the Microsoft OS and in view of the above I on behalf of Intercad wanted to make sure you our partners were aware of the following End of Life Announcements that are also in the SolidWorks 2014 SP4 Release notes.
Attention 32-Bit OS Users
SolidWorks 2014, including the SolidWorks Enterprise PDM 2014 CAD Editor, is the last release that supports 32-bit operating systems. SolidWorks 2015 and the SolidWorks Enterprise PDM 2015 CAD Editor will not install on 32-bit operating systems.
Attention SolidWorks Network License Server Users
SolidWorks Network License Server 2014 will not install on Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, and Windows Server® 2003 operating systems.
Attention SolidWorks Viewer Users
SolidWorks Viewer will be replaced by eDrawings Viewer 2015, starting with the SOLIDWORKS 2015 release. eDrawings Viewer 2015 is available on 64-bit operating systems only.

The SolidWorks 2014 Viewer will remain available for download, but will not open SolidWorks 2015 and later models.
Attention SolidWorks Server Products Users
The SolidWorks 2015 and Enterprise PDM 2015 server products, including the Network License Server, will not install on the Windows Server 2008 ® operating system.
